Alph, Brett, and Dale were much like any set of teenage triplets. They'd shared a room for much of their life, knew each other so well they generally got along well, and laughed it off when someone got them confused. It was hard to tell them apart, and even when people couldn't, they quickly learned to compensate by simply preparing three of anything, just in case. That wasn't always necessary, though; the three brothers, all of generally positive disposition, had also long since learned to share. So it was only when something that couldn't be shared came up that they tended to bicker.
And one such thing was their neighbor. Orihime was their age, and has been in the house next door for as long as any of them could remember. They played together as toddlers, three knights all protecting the princess, and as they got older Orihime was one of the few people who could always reliably tell them apart. And before their very eyes, Orihime had blossomed into a fine young woman, one any of them would gladly have as more than a friend.
"Don't pull that you're-the-oldest crap, Alph. It's by and hour!"
"And you want a pity chance becuase you're the youngest, Dale? When you were born heaviest, you don't need it!"
"You could both step back and let me be first at something for a change."
"Shut up, Brett!"
Yeah, that was the problem. There was one Orihime, and three brothers who all wanted to go out with her. The fact she was coming over to visit on this particular afternoon had started another round of arguing that had them completely forgetting she was due to arrive any second, and had known to let herself in for over a decade.

A friend at school had let her borrow the first season of a television program she'd missed, because she didn't have cable access, so naturally her first instinct was to invite the brothers over so they could watch, and eat popcorn and homemade shortcake. She ran up the steps, noting that their parents' car wasn't in the driveway, and opened the screen door. The front door was already open, so she figured it was just fine to step inside.
Just as she was about to holler their names, she realized that they were already hollering plenty. What was this about? They almost NEVER fought, not around her at least! She wandered to the foot of the stairs and looked up, blinking. Maybe she could mediate? Quietly she ascended, one careful step at a time.

Stubborn when they got fired up, the three of them didn't even notice Orihime's quiet entrance at first, staying focused on each other.
"You know as well as I do this is going to keep going in circles," Alph insisted, giving away this argument had happened before.
"So what are we gonna do? Let her pick?" Brett asked, his tone uncertain whether he was being sarcastic or not.
"What are you, nuts?" Alph snapped back. "Put her on the spot like that? She trusts us, we can't do something like that!"
"Isn't this already prickish?" Dale asked. "Being nice guys for so long and then going for--"
"You're calling yourself a prick with that too, hypocrite," Brett cut him off.
"We're all calling ourselves idiots," Alph said with a tone of finality, "since we're all arguing over who gets to confess to Orihime!"
Frustrated, he turned to leave the room, then stopped dead when he saw a very familiar head of ginger hair poking up the stairs.
"Oh, hi..." Alph managed, looking mortified. "Um... You're here early..."

Confess to Orihime. It was...her? She was the one they were fighting over? It should have been obvious, like a semi truck blaring its horn at a paralyzed deer in the middle of the road, but it still ran her over with shock just the same.
Why...why would it be her? Why all three of them?
Orihime looked down at the video tape in her hands, as if wondering how it got there. She'd completely forgotten the reason of her visit. "Anou...I'm not interrupting anything important, am I...?" She knew she was, but she wanted to at least offer them a chance to save face and pretend she hadn't heard any of it. The heat in her face betrayed that, however.
Last tag for tonight, I need some sleep. I'll get back to you first thing tomorrow!
Well, there was no point running from it now. That thought was confirmed to be mutual as they gave each other grim nods; if they didn't face up to this now, it was only going to make them all more uncomfortable.
"You are... B-But you needed to hear about it eventually anyway," Alph told her forlornly.
"It's something we've been having trouble with for a while," Brett explained.
"We've run into a problem trying to sort out how something works for three of us," Dale added. Even when they were caught fighting like this, they were still on the same wavelength. Especially when all three of them then spoke at the same time.
"I love you, Orihime."
Sleep well!
She smiled and closed her eyes, taking a moment to just breathe and let the warmth spread from her heart out across her chest. They loved her. Each one of them was so dear to her, and such an integral part of her life, that she found it impossible to pick a favorite. Each one had his own special quality that she cherished, that made her feel loved and safe. And all of them were so fiercely protective of her! No, she couldn't choose one any more than they could.
"That's...I mean...it's so wonderful," she admitted, choking up a little as she smiled. "Ah! No! I shouldnt' be saying that if you're fighting!" Her hands came up as though to quickly erase her supposed blunder. "I just mean to say that I'm really happy! Most girls only get a confession from someone she cares about once in a lifetime, maybe twice. But three all at once...I feel so lucky." She looked to the side, and set down the videotape on a nearby dresser before clasping her hands together over her heart. "It means a lot to me. So thank you." Orihime bowed.
But as she straightened, her smile started to fade. "But I don't want you to fight. I love all of you so much! Choosing one person would be impossible, because it would mean hurting everyone else. So I don't...I mean, I wish I could choose and make it easier. I just...I don't know how I could," she shook her head.

"Well, we've... talked about it," Dale answered her. "And it was a dumb idea, and we thought at first... maybe you wouldn't have to."
"We're used to all spending time together," Brett pointed out. "We were always happy as a group growing up, so it might look a little strange if the three of us all took you on a date or something, but we wouldn't mind."
"But then it's... what comes after," Alph finished, and all three brother blushed a little.
Sex. The very intimate part of dating. Even if she would spend time with the three of them easily, it didn't seem right to even ask if she'd have that sort of relationship with all of them at once. That was something for two people alone, right?

Kissing.
It was one of the few rare moments where their minds ran along completely different tracks, when they were usually so in synch with one another. Still, her expression was thoughtful when they brought up the notion of all three dating her at once. That actually sounded kind of fun! If it were anyone else than the triplets, she couldn't possibly imagine such a scenario. But for them, it was difficult to picture anything else. They'd always done things together, and very rarely apart.
She folded her hands behind her back, tipping to lean into the wall. "Well...yes, that would be pretty difficult. I guess...well, if it were just one at a time, and no one else minded waiting...I could do that," she offered.

There was a moment of complete, dumbfounded shock. Kissing hadn't even crossed their minds, the triplets had playfully nudged each other out of the ay when taking turns hugging Orihime for years, kissing was just as extension to that. No, what they heard was perhaps to most brazen thing they'd ever heard Orihime say.
"That's... more forward than I thought you'd be," Brett stuttered after a moment. "I knew you like to share but... wow..."
"Y-You mean with us all in the same room?" Alph asked. "Because going in one after another seems... really skeevy."
For once, it was the youngest who cottoned on quickest that it was perhaps too brazen for something she waould say. "Orihime, you do know what Alph meant, right?" Dale asked.

A little hurt, her gaze flicked from brother to brother, trying to read their individual reactions. It was a solution to their problem, wasn't it? Maybe they thought it would be weird if one brother kissed the same lips and took it to be an indirect kiss with one another.
"W-well...I just thought...I mean, privacy is okay too...!" Her attention moved helplessly to Dale, hoping he understood. He seemed like he did. He didn't think she was skeevy and brazen and forward, did he? She nodded at his question. Yes, she understood. "W-well, I mean...of course I do. I don't have any experience, though, so if it's a matter of who gets the first kiss, I'm not really sure how to solve that."
no subject
"I thought we would seem skeevy, I was talking about... something else," Alph quickly added.
Dale, finding himself the voice of reason, shook his head a little. "You know us, Orihime. We'd be fine if we all got a first kiss on the same night," she told her. He paused, taking a deep breath. Someone had to say it. "We were thinking a bit further ahead than that. About... sex."
"Sorry," Alph added. "But it's something we'd have to think about eventually, and it's not fair to expect you to keep up with all three of us."
"If you did it one by one, you'd be busy for ages," Brett finished. And they couldn't even suggest she let them work together to kiss and caress her while they took turns doing it, could they? That was an incredibly risque thing to ask of her!

Again she looked between them, flustered. Up until now, she hadn't even imagined what it would be like to so much as kiss one of them. What would it feel like to have a body on top of hers, hands on skin, moving...?
She slid down the wall until she was sitting, her knees weak at the wild thoughts that suddenly invaded her mind. "It's...it's fine...I mean, I can't really promise what would happen, this is all really new to me! But I guess...I mean, I could try...?" She looked up at them helplessly. "What would be best?"
Last tag before work, I'll pick up again when I get home!
Orihime would soon find herself being gently lifted to her feet as Alph pulled her into a tender hug, Brett and Dale helping soothe her by playing with her hair or petting the small of her back. This much just came naturally; sharing affection like this seemed to be better when all of them cooperated.
"Sorry, Orihime," Alph told her. "We really are. This what we were afraid of."
"We don't want to force you to do anything," Brett added, lightly scratching at the roots of her hair. "That's most important. We love you, we don't want to overwhelm and hurt you."
"So if you think you could enjoy doing something like this with the clothes off, that's fine by us," Dale told her, massaging her lower back. "But it's completely up to you. You being happy is more important than us getting laid."
Aight!
And when Dale put it like that, her lashes parted slightly, and...well, she could kind of picture it when he put it like that. With her clothes off...would it really be that different...?
"...I think I could," she admitted quietly. "I could at least try." If things started to feel weird or uncomfortable for any of them, all they had to do was say so. But it was hard to imagine feeling uncomfortable with them at all, considering all they'd been through together over the years of their young lives.

"Don't do it just to stop us fighting," Alph insisted. "We got to fighting because you're the most important thing involved."
"None of us want to see you hurt," Dale added. "We'll try if you want. But we don't want you to force yourself and regret it later."

"Alright," Dale said as all three of them gave a nod. "You just say stop if you change your mind, alright?"
"And I think this is the first step," Alph commented. He gently held Orihime's chin, tilting her head back so he could see her face, then gently pressing his lips to hers.

After a long, blissful moment, Alph pulled back. He was feeling a bit lightheaded from just that much, and needed a chance to catch his breath.
Orihime would not be left wanting, though. Brett leaned in the fill the space, aiming for a kiss of his own. His movements were hesitant, though, wondering if this was the sort of sharing she was ready for.

She smiled shyly against his mouth, needing only a few moments to recover before she pressed her lips to his with greater confidence. She even let her hands rest on his shoulders, heart skipping wildly. Gone was her belief that they had to go on a date first before kissing, because this was too wonderful, and it felt almost overdue now that she was experiencing it for the first time.
Surprisingly, it didn't feel strange like she thought it might to kiss more than one person in quick procession. The flow seemed natural. She knew it wouldn't be long before the third triplet moved in to claim a kiss of his own, and she found herself anticipating him with curiosity. What would he be like? And what would Brett do once he found that she accepted him without uncertainty or hesitation?
